Arbosil 1090 is a one-part Low Modulus Neutral Cure Silicone Sealant which cures on exposure to moisture vapour to form a very elastic silicone rubber. Arbosil 1090 has good adhesion to concrete, brickwork, metals, and many other common construction substrates.
Application and Key Benefits of Arbosil 1090
MAIN APPLICATIONS
Recommended for use in many construction applications including curtain walling, both original and remedial perimeter sealing, structural joints in light cladding, profiled metal roof sheets, joints in flat roof systems and guttering joints.
NB: Not recommended for overpainting, use with laminated glass, and use against natural stone.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Joint Preparation
The joint surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from all contamination. The surfaces should be degreased using the appropriate ARBO® Cleaner. ARBO Primer 2650 is recommended on porous materials such as brickwork and concrete.
It is recommended that ARBO Technical Services be consulted regarding the use of cleaners and primers for specific purposes.
Joint Backing
Where applicable, use appropriately sized cross-linked, closed cell Polyethylene foam.
Application
All joint preparation, priming, and sealant application should be carried out in accordance with BS 8000-16: 1997 + A1: 2010 the British Standard for the sealing of joints in buildings using sealants. Arbosil 1090 is supplied in polyethylene 380ml cartridges and can be applied into the joint using an ARBO Caulking Gun.
