The complete gyro is rotated by a precise turntable driven by a stepper motor. The use of the so-called micro step technology makes it possible to make the rotation very smooth and without the recognizable steps, which is the case with the conventional stepper motors. The reason is that a single step is divided here in micro steps, whose envelope is sine-shaped.
