RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

To reduce piping and pump connections stresses, we recommend flexible connections on both the inlet and outlet pipes and air inlet connections. For best results DELLMECO recommends installing the pulsation dampener on the discharge side of the pump.

CONNECTION TYPES – PLASTIC SERIES

Standard BSP (inner thread) This is a standard connection for all plastic and metal pumps.	S – split connections All pump models can be fitted with split connections (code S). The pump can be converted from a standard double-action air-driven diaphragm pump into a unit with two single chambers. The suction and discharge connection are replaced by a split sleeve with a separate suction and discharge for both chambers. Both chambers are independent and by having them with the same drive it means there can be two media streams in a 1:1 ratio.	Flange connections PN10 This options offers the possibility to use flange connectors according to DIN/PN10. The inlet/outlet flange connections are by thread bushings made of stainless steel. The attached O-rings have to be inserted into the grooves of the manifolds to improve sealing before connecting the pump. Pneumatic stroke counting system (code SC5, SC6)
The strokes of the pump will be automatically counted after introducing the codes SC5 and SC6. The pressure change in the air chamber behind one of the diaphragms will be noted by the pressure switch. To function well, the counting system must be fed with the pressure of at least 1.5 bar.

The two types of the counting system are:
– SC5 – pressure switch 1 – 10 bar, cpl. assembled with socket with
cable 5 m; adapter straight NPT ¼”; hose DN 4/6, 2.5 m
– SC6 – as SC5 and a stroke counter.

Diaphragm sensor (code DM1, DM3, DM4)
The role of the diaphragm sensor is to detect a diaphragm fracture. It is installed in the muffler and is designed to be able to operate for any liquid. There are three types of diaphragm sensors:
DM1: 2-wire-Namur, intrinsically safe EEx ia IIC T6
DM3: 3-wire
DM4: 3-wire with plug (only for pumps sizes 10, 20, 50)

The hygienic double diaphragm pumps from Dellmeco are FDA approved thanks to the smooth diaphragm surface since the TFM prevents the growth of bacteria and germs.

Mobile hygienic pumps
All Dellmeco pumps are available as mobile pumps. In order to address the requirements of the food and pharmaceuticals industries, the trolley is made from stainless steel for the hygienic pumps. Naturally, all accessories (filter regulators, hose holders) needed for operation of the pumps can be mounted on the transport trolley.

Heating jacket
For a multitude of delivery tasks, it is necessary for a product to be heated or cooled. For these applications, the side sections as well as the materials inlets and outlets can be heated or cooled. Either warm water, steam or heat transfer oil can be used in order to heat the pump. The maximum permissible operating temperature is -30 °C to +120 °C.
